COACH MARY BLACK
She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1983. Played varsity golf for MPHS
from 1979-1983. Team was state qualifers in 4A golf in 1983. Graduated from
Texas Tech University in 1987 with a B.A. in English. Graduated from West Texas A&M in 1993 with a M.Ed. in Reading Specialist. Lived/taught in Amarillo for 11 years.
Assistant golf coach for a total of 2 years and head golf coach for a total of 5 years.
Have made two trips to the state finals of golf as a coach. Single with no children.
Mom and Dad live in east Texas(Winfield). Older sister and brother-in-law live in Sulpher Springs.
I have a grandmother who is 105 years young!! Love to read, knit and watch television.
Currently teach creative writing, SAT/ACT prep and Read 180 at Frisco High School.
I will start my 9th year at FHS 2008-2009, and my 22nd year of my profession
COACH KIRKLAND
Graduated from Vega High School. Graduated from Angelo State University with a B.A. in Kinesiology and minor in math. 5 years experience at Sherman High School teaching math (Algebra 1 & 2) and coaching football and basketball. Coach Kirkland will be teaching math at FHS. He comes from a family of educators. his father was a coach and his mother is currently a librarian. His wife, Traci, will be teaching 2nd grade at Bright Elementary. Baby boy Kyson is the newest member of the family.
